Ashtanga Yoga
During these exercises your body builds up a lot of internal body heat and a purifying sweat that helps to detoxify the body, especially the muscles and organs. This type of yoga can aid in losing weight as the heartbeat is raised during exercises and as the body builds up so much heat, the metabolism is working harder during ashtanga yoga, aiding weight loss.

Are These Techniques Really Effective?

Yoga exercises such as those used in Bikram and Ashtanga yoga can be effective if you need to lose weight. This is not the fastest way to lose weight with exercise however, and you have to spend a great deal of time doing yoga to make it count.
